2016 Year End Recap - CheerUpdated Tuesday March 7, 2017 by Sarah .
2016-17 was another awesome season to be a Bronco cheerleader.
As always our sidelines were filled with smiling spirited cheerleaders. Practices were hot and gruesome at times but there were still many laughs and memories made. This season we had our first male cheerleader! An exciting achievement that we are seeing grow all around the Jr. program cheer world. We competed at our SYF League competition (Jr Midgets 1st place) as well as at Six Flags Frightfest (Jr Pee Wees 3rd place, Jr Midgets 1st place), Sacramento Capitol City Championships (Pee Wees 3rd place, Jr Midgets 1st place), San Francisco Slam City (Jr Pee Wees 5th place, Pee Wees 3rd place, Jr Midgets 1st place, Midgets 2nd place), Davis Adrenaline (Pee Wees 3rd place, Jr Midgets 1st place, Midgets 3rd place) and Nationals in Las Vegas (Jr Pee Wees 5th place, Pee Wees 3rd place, Jr Midgets 1st place Show Cheer and 1st place performance cheer, Midgets 3rd place) with JAMZ Cheer and Dance. We couldn’t be more proud of our teams.
Special mention goes out to our 2016 Jr Midget cheer team for bringing home 4 Nationals Champion Jackets in 3 consecutive years. A huge thank you goes out to all of our amazing coaches who volunteer countless hours preparing routines, teaching counts and techniques, hosting pizza parties, making sweet cheer gifts and so much more! Thank you!!! We applaud the dedication each of our cheerleaders made to this cheer season and the ones who made the extra commitment to move on to the comp season with us. Your hard work truly shows and will carry on with you throughout your lives. And of course where would they be without the loving support of their wonderful families who drive them to practice every day, wake up at 5am to be at Six Flags by 7:30, for all the hair dos, and make up, from washing uniforms to scrubbing shoes we for sure wouldn’t be successful without you, so a big cheers to you all!
The end of the season is always a little bitter sweet as we say a fond farewell to our 8th grade cheerleaders and they head off to high school. We wish you the best! It is extra bitter sweet for me, as this is my last season with the Jr Broncos as well, it has been a great 9 years and I will always treasure the many memories I have made. With that we are finally turning the page and starting a new with the 2017-2018 season! We look forward to our continued success and growth and we hope you will be there with us. #bvjbproud
Once a Broncos, always a Bronco!
